I’ve been working with this client for a couple of years now. One thing I know about him, he doesn’t compromise when it comes to SEO. He hires the best minds, invests aggressively, and gets strong results. And honestly it works, every project he touches takes off. This one is no exception.
In this case study, I’ll break down what made this website grow from solid to exceptional. I’ll cover both the things that were already working well before I joined and the strategies we implemented after I came on board.
𝟭 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 - 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲

𝟭) 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻
The project had a head start because the client bought an aged domain with decent authority (DR/DA). That alone made a big difference early on. The domain already had some backlinks, a clean profile, and possibly a history in the same niche.
We all know that Starting with an aged domain can shortcut the sandbox period, speed up indexing, and give your content a better shot at ranking right out of the gate.
𝟮) 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝟭𝟬𝟬+ 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗲)
The biggest reason it performed well was the decision to build a macro niche website covering 100+ services instead of focusing on just one micro service.
I've seen this pattern again and again, the sites that scale are the ones that go macro meaning they target all the angles and subcategories instead of sticking to one narrow offer.
I recently built 50 micro niche websites, service-based and local lead-gen sites, each targeting just one page or service. I must say, this micro approach works. However, the websites that offered multiple services covering a full range of related keywords performed better in terms of topical authority. The more relevant content you have under one roof, the more Google sees you as an authority in that space.
𝟯) 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
The site is well organized, with everything just 1–2 clicks from the homepage and it didn’t follow a traditional "category > subcategory" model. Instead, it was structured like this:
𝐻𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑝𝑎𝑔𝑒 → 𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑒.𝑔. 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 → 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑡𝑐)
𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 → 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒-𝐵𝑎𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝐵𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑠 (𝑒.𝑔. 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 → 𝐶ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑝 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑈𝑆𝐴 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑡𝑐)
This simple layout helped Google crawl the site easily (most pages just 1–2 clicks away), grouped related topics well, passed link juice easily and evenly, and made it easy to add new services.
𝟰) 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴
Internal linking was done with clear intent:
- 𝘍𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘳.
- 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳 100 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦.
- 𝘌𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺.
Nothing complicated, just simple internal linking that kept crawlers active and helped the important pages get more SEO value.
𝟱) 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
The client wasn’t afraid to spend on backlinks and gave me an open budget for it.
For guest posts, I focused on pages that were ranking low on the 1st or 2nd page but targeted easy keywords.
And I chose only 5-10 focus pages instead of diversifying on all 100 services pages.
I made sure it was a mix of quantity and quality, but I prioritized authority websites with 70+ DR and solid traffic.
This approach helped rank those potential pages quickly and increased the sales in no time.
𝟲) 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 $𝟯𝟬𝗞 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁
At one point, the client made a bold move that genuinely surprised me. They created a new landing page and 301-redirected an entire old website to it, a site worth over $30,000 and generating $1,000+ per month.
I had worked on that site for years as well and knew how strong its backlink profile was. Redirecting such a valuable asset isn’t a casual decision. it showed how committed the client was to scaling this project.
This high-authority 301 redirect passed serious link juice and gave the domain a massive authority boost, even though it was already strong. It may not have increased sales directly, but It gave the site a strong push for future rankings.
𝟳) 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀
Pages like “get X for free” or “Buy Y for free ” were added, offering small giveaways to attract visitors. This move turned out to be a game-changer.
Thanks to the site’s strong authority, these pages ranked almost instantly and brought in a huge wave of traffic. More importantly, many of those visitors converted into paying customers, giving a strong boost to overall sales.
Targeting high-volume “free” keywords is a smart way to drive traffic and conversions, especially when your domain already has strong authority.
𝟴) 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
A smart move was to focus on blog keywords that were easy to rank but often overlooked even dismissed as useless by big brands, especially those popular in Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries like India, Nigeria etc.
These keywords had solid search volume and low competition. Publishing regular content around them brought huge traffic and improved the site’s overall topical authority. According to the client, this single move tripled their sales.
Don’t overlook useless keywords ignored by big brands. They can bring in quick traffic, boost site authority, and drive significant sales growth.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀?
With everything combined, the site’s traffic jumped from 1,000 to 10,000+ clicks a day. Over 1+ million clicks in just 9 months.
And did I mention? This niche is super competitive.
I don't have access to exact sales data, but based on what I know, it likely grew by 5–10X
In SEO, every goal is achievable, if you’re ready to invest the right amount.
