The Inspiring Story of a Poor Woman & a Kind Rich Man

A poor woman, burdened by poverty, went to the house of a wealthy man and knocked on his door.
ایک غریب عورت، تنگ دستی سے مجبور ہو کر، ایک مالدار آدمی کے گھر گئی اور دروازہ کھٹکھٹایا۔
A servant came out and asked, "What do you want?"
ایک خادم باہر آیا اور پوچھا: "تم کیا چاہتی ہو؟"
The woman said, "I want to meet your master."
عورت نے کہا: "میں تمہارے مالک سے ملنا چاہتی ہوں۔"
The servant asked, "Who are you?"
خادم نے پوچھا: "تم کون ہو؟"
She replied, "Tell him I am his sister."
اس نے کہا: "اسے بتاؤ کہ میں اس کی بہن ہوں۔"
The servant, knowing his master had no sister, went inside to inform him.
خادم، جو جانتا تھا کہ اس کا مالک بے بہن ہے، اندر گیا اور اطلاع دی۔
The master said, "Bring her in."
مالک نے کہا: "اسے اندر لے آؤ۔"
The woman entered, and the rich man warmly welcomed her.
عورت اندر آئی، اور مالدار شخص نے اسے خوش دلی سے خوش آمدید کہا۔
He asked, "Which of my brothers' sister are you? May Allah have mercy on you."
اس نے پوچھا: "تم میرے کس بھائی کی بہن ہو؟ اللہ تم پر رحم کرے۔"
She said, "I am the daughter of Adam."
عورت نے کہا: "میں آدم کی بیٹی ہوں۔"
The rich man thought, "This woman is truly destitute; I should be the first to help her."
مالدار آدمی نے دل میں سوچا: "یہ واقعی بے سہارا ہے، میں سب سے پہلے اس کی مدد کروں گا۔"
The woman said, "O my brother, perhaps people like you do not know how bitter poverty tastes."
عورت نے کہا: "اے میرے بھائی، شاید آپ جیسے لوگ غربت کی تلخی نہیں جانتے۔"
"Because of this poverty, I stand on the verge of divorce from my husband."
"اسی غربت کی وجہ سے میں طلاق کے دروازے پر کھڑی ہوں۔"
"Do you have something you can give for the Day of Judgment? What you possess will perish, but what is with Allah will remain."
"کیا آپ کے پاس کچھ ہے جو قیامت کے دن کے لیے دے سکیں؟ جو آپ کے پاس ہے وہ ختم ہو جائے گا، لیکن جو اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ باقی رہے گا۔"
The rich man asked her to repeat it again and again, finding beauty in her words.
مالدار آدمی نے اسے بار بار دہرانے کو کہا، اسے اس کی بات میں حسن نظر آیا۔
After several repetitions, she said, "I don't think you understand me, and repeating this is humiliation for me."
کئی بار دہرانے کے بعد عورت نے کہا: "لگتا ہے آپ میری بات نہیں سمجھے، اور بار بار دہرانا میرے لیے ذلت ہے۔"
"I have never lowered myself before anyone except Allah."
"میں نے کبھی اللہ کے سوا کسی کے سامنے خود کو نہیں جھکایا۔"
The rich man said, "By Allah, your words are so beautiful that if you repeated them a thousand times, I would give you a thousand dirhams each time."
مالدار آدمی نے کہا: "اللہ کی قسم! تمہاری بات اتنی خوبصورت ہے کہ اگر تم ہزار بار بھی دہراتیں تو ہر بار کے بدلے ہزار درہم دیتا۔"
Then he commanded his servants to give her ten camels, ten she-camels, as many sheep as she wanted, and wealth and provisions.
پھر اس نے خادموں سے کہا: "اسے دس اونٹ، دس اونٹنیاں، جتنی چاہے بکریاں اور مال و دولت دے دو۔"
He added, "So we may have something prepared for the Day of Judgment."
اور کہا: "تاکہ قیامت کے دن کے لیے کچھ جمع کر سکیں۔"
Indeed, what we have will perish, but what is with Allah remains forever.
یقیناً جو ہمارے پاس ہے وہ ختم ہو جائے گا، اور جو اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ ہمیشہ باقی رہے گا۔
