| The Foxes’ Tale |
1️⃣ A fox was once walking when a heavy stone fell on her, and her tail was cut off.
ایک لومڑی جا رہی تھی کہ اچانک ایک بھاری پتھر اس پر آ گرا اور اس کی دم کٹ گئی۔
2️⃣ Another fox saw her and asked, "Why did you cut off your tail?"
دوسری لومڑی نے اُسے دیکھا اور پوچھا: "تم نے اپنی دم کیوں کٹوا دی؟"
3️⃣ The first fox lied and said, "It feels like I’m flying in the air, it’s so much fun without a tail!"
پہلی لومڑی نے جھوٹ بولا اور کہا: "مجھے لگتا ہے جیسے میں ہوا میں اُڑ رہی ہوں، دم کے بغیر بڑا مزہ آتا ہے!"
4️⃣ Hearing this, the second fox also cut off her tail.
یہ سن کر دوسری لومڑی نے بھی اپنی دم کٹوا دی۔
5️⃣ But when she felt terrible pain and no joy, she angrily asked the first fox, "Why did you lie to me?"
لیکن جب اُسے شدید تکلیف ہوئی اور کوئی مزہ نہ آیا، تو اُس نے غصے سے پہلی لومڑی سے پوچھا: "تم نے مجھ سے جھوٹ کیوں بولا؟"
6️⃣ The first fox replied, "If I had told you the truth, no other fox would cut off their tail, and they would laugh at us."
پہلی لومڑی نے جواب دیا: "اگر میں سچ بتا دیتی تو باقی لومڑیاں اپنی دم نہ کٹواتیں، اور وہ ہم پر ہنستیں۔"
7️⃣ Then both of them started convincing other foxes of the benefits of losing their tails.
پھر وہ دونوں مل کر باقی لومڑیوں کو دم کٹوانے کے فائدے بتانے لگیں۔
8️⃣ One by one, most of the foxes cut off their tails.
ایک ایک کر کے زیادہ تر لومڑیوں نے اپنی دمیں کٹوا لیں۔
9️⃣ And whenever they saw a fox with a tail, they mocked her.
اور جب وہ کسی لومڑی کو دم کے ساتھ دیکھتیں، تو اُس کا مذاق اُڑاتیں۔

قرآن بھی ہمیں اس حقیقت کی یاد دہانی کراتا ہے، جیسا کہ قومِ لوط نے کہا:

"اِن کو اپنی بستی سے نکال دو، یہ تو بڑے پاکباز بنتے ہیں!" (سورۃ الاعراف: 82)
